Dr Verily Tan is a Senior Educational Specialist at the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT). Her work centres on AI in education, with a strong focus on faculty professional development and related institutional initiatives. Part of her role involves working alongside Instructional Technology on selected initiatives contributing pedagogical perspectives. She is strongly committed to helping faculty grow their teaching practice and course design in ways that are thoughtful and responsive to the needs of their classrooms.
Drawing on her training in the Learning Sciences (M.S.) and Instructional Systems Technology (Ph.D., Indiana University Bloomington), Verily approaches her work as an ongoing process of inquiry and refinement. Her research interests focus on AI-focused professional development, the development of guiding frameworks for instructional decision-making, and the systematic documentation and analysis of educational practice to support shared institutional learning.
