Welcome to CTLT! Our journey began 40 years ago with the Centre for Educational Technology, evolving through the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning (CDTL) and the Centre for Instructional Technology (CIT). Today, we proudly reunite these strengths within the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT). This synergistic union also marks a renewed vision: to be a leading global center of innovation in teaching, learning, and instructional technology, transforming higher education, inspiring educators, and empowering learners to reach their fullest potential. Chin Hwa, Yuen Jien, and I invite you to join us in building a vibrant community of educators, as we work together to create personalised and engaging learning experiences for our students. With your continued support and partnership, we can deliver education that is student-focused, transformative, and empowering.

A warm welcome from the CTLT Teaching and Learning Team!

As the Director for Teaching and Learning at CTLT, me and my team of academic developers aim to do the following:

  • Support NUS colleagues in their journey to be a great tertiary teacher
  • Develop and showcase the teaching talents of our NUS colleagues
  • Contextualise pedagogy approaches to within the needs and environment of each Faculty and School in NUS
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to broaden higher education teaching

To achieve these aims, we offer high quality professional development programmes and consulting services to the NUS teaching community at both introductory and advanced levels. We also forge close partnerships with Departments and Faculty groups across NUS to initiate and sustain substantive and transformative conversations about student learning

Together with our academic developers, I look forward to lively engagements on higher education teaching and learning with you!
