As part of the University’s commitment to excellence in teaching, CTLT conducts a formal training programme for Teaching Assistants (TAs). The Teaching Assistants’ Programme (TAP) aims to enhance TAs’ knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy in facilitating active learning within classrooms. TAP comprises two parts: TAP-Foundation (TAP-F) and TAP-Intermediate (TAP-I). We hope that the programme will be beneficial at improving the TAs’ practices, ultimately maximising their positive impact on students’ outcomes. Furthermore, we seek to develop in our participants a growth mindset, fostering a perspective that intelligence can be nurtured through efforts.
TAP-F is designed to equip participants with the basics of teaching and learning. The course is self-paced and entirely online, delivered primarily through pre-recorded videos. In addition to the videos, students can expect related assessment tasks.
Individuals interested in the course are welcome to complete the registration form:

TAP-I is a pre-semester workshop that serves as a continuation of TAP-F. It is conducted in partnership with specific departments, aiming to offer TAs an opportunity to refine their pedagogical knowledge and skills essential to effectively fulfil their departmental duties.
