CHNG Hui Ting is Associate Director (Capability Development) at CTLT, a Senior Lecturer with the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Science in NUS, and a Fellow with the NUS Teaching Academy. A registered pharmacist with the Singapore Pharmacy Council since 2009, Hui Ting is a dynamic, effective, and passionate educator with the experience and expertise to bridge the interdisciplinary teaching of pharmacy practice with pharmaceutical sciences, the humanities, arts and sciences.
As university students are standing at an important crossroad of their lives where they are transiting from a structured and safe environment to the “real-world” that is volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous, Hui Ting sees her role as not only teaching to prepare students for workplace, but also to inspire confidence, agency, and purpose, so that they may chart their own paths and contribute meaningfully to the world around them. She does this through her core principles of clarity, connection, and care where she employs various methods such as using analogies, visual thinking strategies, as well as active and collaborative learning pedagogies to engage students and scaffold their learning.
Her education research interests encompass interprofessional and interdisciplinary education, active and collaborative learning pedagogy, mentorship, motivation in learning and empathy. Her disciplinary research interests cover the areas of pharmacokinetics of drugs used in veterinary medicine and drug information.
