Ravi Chandran is the senior advisor at the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT). Prior to his appointment as senior advisor, Ravi was Director of Centre for Instructional Technology (CIT) from 2003 to 2021.
Ravi led many of NUS’ technology enhanced learning initiatives during his tenure as Director for CIT such as the notebook ownership programme, initiating plagiarism detection services, launching NUS’ own learning management system (IVLE and LumiNUS), transitioning NUS to Canvas learning management system, implementing video management strategy for NUS and moving NUS towards digital assessments. His current projects and research interest include personalised learning and developing a service management framework for CTLT.
Senior Associate Director

NARAYANAN Shyam is Senior Associate Director, and brings over two decades of experience to NUS’s educational technology team. Since 2001, he has spearheaded the development and support of critical services like the university’s learning management system, courseware content creation, plagiarism detection tools, and collaborative learning platforms.
Shyam’s focus is firmly set on the future of education. His passion for innovation has him exploring the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, Learning Analytics Dashboards, and other cutting-edge edtech tools. This focus translates into supporting initiatives that promote Technology-enabled Learning across the university.
Beyond his departmental leadership, Shyam is a proactive member of the university’s AI Task Force. In this role, he leverages his expertise to identify promising technological solutions, conduct technology scans, and influence university policy decisions that shape the future of learning at NUS.
Senior Manager

WU Haixin is a Senior Manager at CTLT. She heads the Digital Assessment team and is responsible for overseeing the implementation and conduct of in-person and remote digital assessments at NUS. With over 15 years’ experience in this field, she plays a crucial role in driving the digital assessment initiative at the university. Haixin obtained her Master’s degree in Information Systems from NUS and was a pivotal member of the technical team that developed and enhanced IVLE and LumiNUS learning management systems for NUS, and supported the university’s transition to Canvas. She is particularly interested in the emerging technologies in higher education, focusing on assessments, automated grading, and student feedback.

Chee Ann is always excited with audio-visual and video streaming technology. He took up the team lead role for Campus Classroom Teaching Support from 2019 to 2023, working closely with UCI on many technology-enable classroom projects. Currently, he is part of the webcast team overseeing NUS video management system and web lecture service. He enjoys exploring digital enablement tools like Power BI, Power Automate. He looks forward to dive deep in AI innovation, gradually form part of the mainstream video system for NUS community.

Sie Wee, as the Head of the Education Media Technology Team at CTLT, is a distinguished alumnus of the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a bachelor’s degree and a Lean Six Sigma certification, underlining his dedication to academic and professional excellence. His commitment to cultural exchange and lifelong learning was recognised with an ERAMUS+ scholarship to study at Sorbonne University in France, enhancing his skills in instructional technology and broadening his cultural perspectives. Sie Wee’s roles as Resident Fellow and Domestic Bursar reflect his ambition to influence his students positively. His achievements include winning a gold award at the Learning Institution Quality Conference (LIQC), securing second runner-up in the “Can’t Live Without Tech!” contest by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the IDM chapter of Singapore Computer Society (SCS), and receiving the Commendation Medal at the 2023 National Day Awards for his exceptional contributions to education. Additionally, his expertise in the field was recognized when he served as a judge for Picture Singapore 2014.

KONG Hui Yi is the Head of Administration at CTLT. She manages 3 functions—Corporate Services, Programs/Events, and Strategic Communications. Each of these functions are unique on its own yet work together to ensure comprehensive support is provided for CTLT. Together with her team, she aims to coordinate and collaborate with CTLT management, department leads, and colleagues to achieve the mission and goals of CTLT in delivering cutting-edge technology to empower students to reach their full potential.
